Which all available modules does the 9xr support. It seems to have an antenna connector inside the tx.

Just to add to the first question, can I fit the standard 9X V2 module into the 9XR, and, if so what mods if any are needed?
Many Thanks,

The module bay on the 9XR is the JR type so all of the modules on the HK site excepting those stated as being Futaba type (or to fit Futaba) should fit.

The internal antenna connection is for HK's new design modules which they aren't selling just yet. It eliminates the need for the module to have an antenna of its own. Regardless of this you can stil use the modules that have their own antenna

The 9X module should fit the 9XR although they have apparently improved the specs on the 9XR for modules so that future ones are a better fit. I'm told that with the 9x the fit was a bit sloppy (I don't have one) and some people have used blutack or other stuff to stop it being so loose.

My 9X module has a fixed antenna connection to the Tx. That won't fit.

It says it has an internal antenna..Is that the reason i dont see an antenna for the 9xr.Is it literally internal?

Does the OEM module of the 9xr(seen in the picture) has native DSM support?

Yes. See on this picture.

Module 9XR, which not yet sell, is the DSM2/DSMX module like this Orange module with the difference that the 9XR module will have an connector for connect to internal antenna of the Turnigy 9XR (maybe it's the SSMB-Nano connector).

When use any other modules like Assan, FlySky FS-TM002, FrSky DJT and so on then uses an external antenna on the module.

9XR module is not yet on sale. 9XR module price will be about as Orange module (about $30).

I'd rather get the frsky than the dsm..the moduleless version was released to show the price of the 9xr was cheap

Does anyone know when HK plan to release the dedicated module for the 9XR? It would make sense to order everything together to keep the shipping manageable.

I would like to have an empty module case to try a hack using a spektrum dx4/5 transmitter board. Right now, I think many folks just install them right inside their 9x. Or for people that already have turnigy or frsky modules, but want to take advantage of the new internal antenna (provided the empty modules come with all the external connectors etc.

hmm..nice thinking, but why would they sell empty cases.May be when your hack gets popular enough they might think of adding an emoty case ;)

Its on back order.I heard its a good UHF module for the price. The 3 channel hopping is good enough, but if you want flexibility you can use many pre written codes like the UNDEAD mod which supports hoppoing upto 6 channel. One reason to flash it is that the factory firmware is hard paired using a key,as it uses UHF there is no binding like in the 2.4 ghz.So if your rx catches a signal from other source it may or may not create a problem, these modules and the frequency's not that common, but just to be on the safe side.It is a good option if you plan to utilize the open LRS

Wow! I thought 2.4Ghz was all that was available.I'd never heard of the OpenLRS Project until now. This opens up an entire new set of options and the 9XR looks as if it can use the module. Looks like I've got a whole load of new reading to do.............. :geek:

These modules are JR standard, which is also the same standard followed by 9x,and now 9xr..So you have plenty of modules to choose from :)

Absolutely minimal chance.

efbe wrote:Some possibilities here.

The antenna connector is probably not a part of the module case, but is soldered on the module PCB and therefore not easy to integrate with other modules.

The easiest way is to use an external antenna to the other modules.

The file that was posted shows otherwise. It has an u.FL pigtail, so yes, if they supplied empty cases with the connector and cable it would be easy to install the guts of another module in.
